It’s common to have a bad day or get a case of feeling down but what do you do to solve it? Let me introduce you to ROSEMARY OIL!
Rosemary oil has been shown to enhance your mood, assist with preventing and managing depression, and can lower cortisol (stress hormone in your blood). If you wanted to, you could even apply rosemary oil to your scalp (mixed with a carrier oil) to promote healthy hair growth.
For about the past 4 months I replaced my after shower lotion routine with a blend of Fractionated Coconut Oil and Rosemary Oil. Fractionated coconut oil is a much thinner and smoother version of your basic coconut oil that people would typically use for cooking. I like to use the brand Radha for both the refractioned coconut oil and rosemary oil. I use seven drops of rosemary oil per one pump of coconut oil and rub on like I would lotion but am careful to stay away from the more sensitive areas since there is essential oils in the mix.
The best way to apply the lotion is in a circular motion all across your body while giving your body a slight massage. This stimulates circulation and also allows for the essential oil to heat up and absorb into your pores more quickly. If you are worried about feeling greasy, you will be happy to know that the oil dries quickly and leaves your skin feeling like velvet! (I AM NOT EXAGGERATING!)
Now, I’m not saying that this is a magically remedy to cure sadness or depression but it does lift your mood. I have found that inhaling this scent keeps me calm and enhances my optimism. I even carry a little roller mixed with the coconut and rosemary oil to apply on my temples and wrists at work when I need a little 3 o’clock pick me up.
